ProfAgent does both.

1. Forward review-invitation emails. Copy the address at the top of this page and set up a forwarding rule (or just forward manually) from your inbox to ProfAgent. Any email you forward there gets read in full — not just the subject line — and ProfAgent pulls out the title, authors, journal, deadline, and abstract automatically.

2. Accept or decline right from the card. If the invitation email included an accept/decline link, both buttons show up directly on the paper — no need to dig through your inbox to find the original email.

3. You still upload the manuscript yourself. ProfAgent can't log into each journal's reviewer portal on your behalf, so once you decide to review, download the manuscript from the journal and upload it here (or connect a folder) to start the actual review.

4. Track your review load over time. The stats bar shows how many invitations you've received in total, how many this month, and which journals send you the most — so you always have a sense of your reviewing workload.

5. Journal Reviews vs. Internal Reviews. This tab is for review requests that come from journals and conferences. The "Internal Reviews" tab next to it is for reviewing your own students' or colleagues' work — theses, drafts, and manuscripts you're giving feedback on directly, not through a journal.

1. Add your files. Use the Files card on the right to add your manuscript draft and the reviewer comments (or connect a folder so I can save updates straight back to it).

2. Pick an action. "Just Answer Comments" drafts a response to each reviewer point without touching your manuscript. "Answer + Revise My Documents" does that and also applies the suggested edits to your manuscript as tracked changes.

3. Chat for anything else. Ask follow-up questions, request specific edits, or tell me what to change — just like chatting with any AI assistant. Any file I generate shows up as a download button right in the chat.

4. Made your own edits? If you download a generated file and edit it yourself, upload it back through "Add file." For the manuscript, I'll ask if it should become the version I work from going forward. For a response letter (or any other document) you edited, just re-upload it and tell me in chat to review it — I'll read its actual content and continue from there.

5. Need to edit one specific comment? Once your reviewer comments have been parsed (this happens automatically the first time you use a quick action or ask in chat), a "Reviewer Comments & AI Responses" section appears below the chat — collapsed by default, but that's where you can rewrite any individual response by hand or mark a comment as resolved. Each comment there is color-coded — green means it was answered directly, amber means it needs your input, red means it needs substantial new work — and the same colors appear in the "Status" card on the right and on the exported response letter.

6. An amber/red comment stays that color even after you answer it — why? The color reflects what I decided when I first read the comments, not a live tracker. If a comment needs your input, drafting a response for it afterward won't change its color on its own. Check the "Resolved" checkbox on that comment once you're satisfied with it — that moves it into its own "Resolved" count in the Status card (separate from "Can answer," since resolving a yellow/red comment yourself isn't the same as one I could draft on my own) and updates the exported letter to match. If you don't check it, it stays the same color.

7. Not sure which download is current? Check the "Generated Files" list in the sidebar — it always reflects the latest version. If you edit a response or note by hand and save it, and a response letter already exists for this round, I automatically regenerate that letter with your edit, so the file there stays current without any extra step.
